Biomimicry-driven study of future architectural space: a flexible structure that unfolds and adapts to boundary conditions — light, view, landscape, climate. Presented as WAF Future Vision 2016; 25,000 m² mixed-use study for Berlin.
Concept
The Waffle Structure explores how biomimicry can define the parameters of future architectural spaces under climate challenge. Its flexible, adaptable design unfolds in response to boundary conditions — euphoria, light, view, landscape, climate — letting the structure meet occupants' innate needs regardless of the specific parameters defining the space.
