The Liquid Crystal Series is a private archive of singular, generatively formed pieces made from plant-based bio-resin and hand-mixed pigment. Each object's surface pattern emerges uniquely during the curing process, making every piece unrepeatable by design. The series includes three distinct objects: the Crystal Clutch, Ellipsis Clutch, and Halo Case.
The concept behind this project is to challenge traditional notions of luxury and rarity. By using generative formation techniques, Sólleria ensures that each object is truly one-of-a-kind, with no identical twins or mass-produced duplicates. This approach combines with physical authentication and a digital passport to verify the singularity of each piece.
Notable outcomes of this project include the creation of 24 unique pieces in each colorway, with edition limits strictly observed to maintain scarcity and exclusivity. The archive also includes a certificate of authenticity for each object, issued with its serial number, formation date, and craftsperson's details. This documentation process not only verifies the singularity of each piece but also provides a permanent record that can be linked to via a QR code.
The Liquid Crystal Series has expanded beyond the physical objects themselves, with the option to commission a singular object with one's initials embedded in the resin as it forms. This bespoke approach allows individuals to own a truly unique piece, further blurring the lines between art and luxury.
