A built eco-hospitality and training campus combining accommodation, training spaces, and an organic farm within a forest valley environment.
The Narköy Eco Hotel & Training Center is a holistic model for sustainable hospitality and learning that combines accommodation, training spaces, and an organic farm within a forest valley environment. The project takes a circular approach to sustainability, linking energy, water, materials, and daily operations into a cohesive system rather than treating "green" as a visual theme.
The design prioritizes reducing disturbance to the ground ecosystem through lightweight prefabricated steel modular units, raised walkways on piles, and accommodation volumes oriented to maximize southern daylight. The operational strategy also focuses on reducing mechanical dependency by using renewable energy systems, high-performance insulation, and natural ventilation instead of air-conditioning.
Water is treated as a closed-loop resource, with rainwater collection used for landscape irrigation and greywater treatment and reuse for toilet flushing. Materials and interiors are designed to be sustainable, with the use of recycled and natural-content materials, upcycled elements, and timber cladding. The site's integrated model includes an organic farm that produces a substantial portion of food served on-site.
The project demonstrates a commitment to sustainability through its design and operations, providing a unique model for eco-friendly hospitality and learning.
