The Living O’Pod

A minimal, decentralized, and connected housing concept that nurtures the habitant's soul, mind, and resilience for social, environmental, and technological challenges.

The Living O'Pod is a conceptual housing project that seeks to redefine the relationship between human habitation and nature. The design approach emphasizes minimalism, decentralization, and connectivity, aiming to create spaces that are both functional and resilient in the face of social, environmental, and technological challenges.

The project's core concept revolves around blurring the boundaries between indoors and outdoors, extending the living space to encompass the surrounding environment. This is achieved through a camouflaged exterior that reflects the surroundings and sky, creating a seamless transition between interior and exterior spaces. The prefabricated steel frame structure allows for precision in form and assembly on-site.

Notable outcomes of this project include the creation of a 360-degree view of the surroundings through floor-to-ceiling glass windows, as well as a rotation feature that optimizes natural light and solar energy harvesting. The interior design features plywood elements and a thermal insulating layer with heating system, ensuring comfortable operation in winter conditions.

The Living O'Pod prototype is designed to accommodate two people, with a master bedroom, kitchen, bathroom, living room, and terrace. This compact yet efficient layout enables inhabitants to connect with nature while maintaining a sense of security and comfort.
