Manly Cove Beach Club

Situated on the serene waterfront of Manly Cove, Sydney, this 1,000-square-meter commercial beach club—designed in collaboration with Eti Kastoryano—reimagines coastal hospitality through a lens of earthy minimalism and barefoot luxury. The sweeping, monolithic architecture provides a grounded sanctuary that seamlessly transitions into a fluid sequence of restaurant, bar, and open-air lounge spaces. To soften the bold structural geometries, the interior relies on a rigorous curation of tactile, soulful materials, anchoring the spaces with matte travertine, weathered oak, and hand-applied plaster. By prioritizing natural light, deep shadow, and organic textures, the design dissolves the boundaries between the built environment and the rugged coastline, resulting in a tranquil, ruin-like refuge tailored for slow living and effortless day-to-night gatherings.
